So Much Gratitude In November. Then What?

Inevitably the month of November brings a slew of posts on social media about how grateful people are. And then, poof! It's all over and we all move on. And don't get me wrong, I am thrilled that people collectively start focusing on gratitude, even if it's for only a few weeks.

I am sure it is with no surprise to you, that I think we should be practicing gratitude everyday. And the things we acknowledge that we are grateful for do not even need to be big things. Gratitude is about acknowledging the good stuff, no matter how small it may seem. It’s about not letting the bad stuff dominate your space.

That’s the power of practicing gratitude. Not just in November or just on Thanksgiving, but every month, everyday.

I started seriously practicing daily gratitude back in April. I started with a morning journal, in time have transitioned to daily mental gratitude-reflection upon waking and before falling asleep. Here’s the most challenging part, getting to the point of this being a routine behavior. If you can do it daily for 21 days, it will become a habit. But new habits can fade. You must do it daily for 90 days for it to become a daily routine. Trust me - it’s so worth it.

And thank you. I appreciate you being here.
