Why Oola?
Updated: Nov 8, 2022
I have been fortunate enough to have been born with, or raised with, some sort of internal compass that has always pointed to my passion. Now, don't get me wrong; just because I had the tools to follow my passion, it doesn't mean there have not been times in my life where I found myself off course. But for the most part, I try to keep myself heading in the direction of my true passion. Spending my time pursuing the things in life that are fulfilling and resonate deep within me has always served me well.
My career has been based around working with animals, but if you are going to work with animals, you also need to be able to work well with people. I mean, that's true for any line of work, people are everywhere! And you can't ignore the fact that even if you work alone, you are working with the thoughts, needs and emotions of the person that is you. Several years ago I reached a point in my career where I wanted to share my decades of experience with the next generation that was coming up the proverbial career ladder. So I followed my passion and became a part-time college instructor, teaching not only what I knew about the work, but also about navigating a career. Little did I know at that time, I would end up mentoring and coaching so many inspiring individuals.
As time went on I found that coaching and mentoring was exceedingly rewarding on many levels. I not only take great pride in seeing others succeed, but I love "cheering from the side-lines" as people explore and develop their own personal passions and discover their power to grow through life.

When I decided it was time to become a certified Life Coach, I spent a lot of time looking into the many certification options. The Oola certification program was one of the first I looked into. The program's structure, along with the 7 areas of focus and how the founders Dr. Troy & Dr. Dave are directly involved, really stuck with me. Nonetheless, I continued to research several other courses from other organizations with certification programs. All of them were good, but I kept coming back to the one with the unusual name, Oola. You see, Oola also offers up a community too. You don't have to join anything or be in the community if you don't want to, but it's there and it's vibrant and active. It offers the support and accountability that fosters success for the coaches and the clients.
It was a big decision for me, and one I didn't make lightly, but I ultimately signed up to become certified through the Oola Life Coaching program. And I am so glad I did! Just working through the in-depth certification process I feel like I have already become a better person and a better coach.
There is so much I could go into about the Oola certification and what it will mean for my clients when we work together. But for now I will leave it at this, at the core of the Oola life style is the number 7. The Oola Guys, (Oola founders Dr. Troy & Dr. Dave) have created a coaching program that in based on the 7 F's of finding balance, finding and living the Oola life:
FITNESS: Everything health and wellness in your life. Primarily referring to how you use your body and what you put in your body.
FINANCE: All things personal finance.
FAMILY: Single, committed, married, divorced, children, step-children, extended family… all belong here.
FIELD: Your career and your profession. Stay-at-home parents and students, this includes you.
FAITH: Based on gratitude, humility, and an understanding of our greater purpose in the world.
FRIENDS: Everything social. Includes two categories: friends and acquaintances.
FUN: Explores your personal passions in life.
As an Oola Life Coach, I will help you do a deep dive into your life to explore where you truly are in those 7 F's. Once you have a clear idea of where you are and a clear idea of where you want to be in those 7 F's, that space in-between... that's where we get to work. And I promise you, on the other side of all of that work, you will fully understand and appreciate why Oola is so much more than a quirky and fun little word.
Trust me when I say, you deserve to experience reaching your goals and living your dreams!
